3 Way Street formed out of the four piece Smooth Edges in the spring of 2011. Three members, Steve, Jay and Jim decided to create a smaller band and play in the smaller pub and bar venues in the Milwaukee area. Between the three band members, they are proficient on a variety of instruments, which they work into the set list to keep any event fresh, interesting, and fun. They also all sing.
With this flexibility they provide great rock music with a strong punch. The group's members have been playing classic rock for years in various bands and know how to mix the ingredients that people are looking for..strong instrumentation and vocals for dance and listening music, while allowing the audience to converse without ear plugs.

Jay (bass and vocals) decided early on that bass guitar was a lot more fun than the viola and has been in rock bands ever since. Probably Waukesha County's most humble talent, he sings in four octaves and plays a mean acoustic guitar too... when he’s not out riding his Harley. Jay's easy manner and even keel are a good influence on the group. Make Jay smile, you win a prize.

Steve (drums and vocals) began singing as a kid growing up in Virginia when he would play his sisters’ 45’s and mimic artists like Elvis, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and the like. He became interested in drums, playing on hat boxes and trash cans until he bought his first real set at age thirteen. Major life long music influences include Ray Charles, Beatles, East Coast Soul/Beach Music, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond and the Four Seasons. He lives in Delafield, WI.
As can be seen in the pic, Steve's plays on drums he converted with a Roland module to electronic in order to better control the stage and audience volume and get a great increase in the variety of drum sounds between pop, blues, R&B and rock.

Jim (acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards, harmonica and vocals) brings a wide array of musical ability to the group. It is not unusual to see him playing multiple instruments at different points in the same song. He is also a product of many years of playing and listening to formative rock music. Jim is an expert on all things Beatle and Beatle members. Ask him any trivia question on them and he will have the answer! He has actually visited their old stomping grounds in Liverpool, England while on a trip to London! Among Jim's favorites are The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Neil Young.
Jim, like Jay, can also be found riding his Harley in his spare time.
